What a session returning Belgium angler Francis Ameryckx had catching an amazing total of 129 fish. that included not one but two Palm Tree Lagoon BIG Catfish Club qualifying Mekongs. He also caught a number of new species for him like Juliens golden price carp, mad barb, mrigal, a chubby Chinese bighead carp, rohu, black ear catfish,vundu catfsih, African walking catfish, yellow catfish and a stunning albino pacu. In addition to these magnificent catches he also landed a plethora of other species that included pb alligator gar, mollycot, tambaqui, Siamese carp, chao phraya catfish, wallago attu, both Amazon and Asian redtail and much more.... fro a total of 25 different species.
 
Toni Toffalo made hi first visit to Palm Tree during the month and had some great catches topped off by an impressive Siamese carp that weighed well over the 100lb mark. He also caught Mekong catfish, wallago attu which was high on his wish list due to it's similarity to a wels catfish, and yellow catfish.
 
Mr Fishing himself the honorary John Wilson was back enjoying the fishing as always. and successfully landing a number of great catches that included Juliens golden price carp, a chunky striped catfish, rohu, mollycot, Mekong catfish and Amazon redtail.
 
David Gordon was back and this time finally joined the Palm Tree BIG Catfish Club after a marathon two and a half hour battle with a mighty Mekong catfish. The legendary John Wilson was on hand to assist David in the photo shoot. He also caught Siamese carp, Amazon redtail and striped catfish.
 
Regular Palm Tree visitors Finnish angler Johnny and his wife Tuula were back and were soon into rod bending action finally catching his first Juliens golden price carp as well as Mekong catfish, Siamese carp, striped catfish, wallago attu, as well as both Amazon and Asian redtail.
 
Karl Zimmerman certainly made up for the lack of action at the dam catching a monster Mekong catfish first cast after a ninety minute battle, catapulting him straight into the Palm Tree Lagoon BIG Catfish Club. He also caught striped catfish, chao phraya catfish and Asian redtail.
 
Mark Jones made his way up from Pattaya with his family and between him and his son they caught some superb fish like chao phraya catfish, Mekong catfish, rohu, mollycot, striped catfish as well as both Amazon and Asian redtail.
 
Keith Whitefoot had a good inaugural session at Palm Tree catching some fat cat Mekongs as well as some stunning alligator gar, Chinese bighead carp, wallago attu, big-Y catfish, striped catfish, rohu, black shark minnow, pacu, and Amazon redtail.
 
A passing angler whose name I didn't catch was very pleased with his catches of a mint Siamese carp that went well over the 100lb mark and a striped catfish.
 
Belgium angler Jim Delie also returned during the month catching some nice fish that included albino pacu, rohu, tambaqui, Siamese carp, a stumpy Mekong catfish and Amazon redtail.
 
Derek Ewing and his fishing buddy David were back and had a score to settle with the friendly Mekong that they lost after a marathon three hour battle last time. Well this time they succeeded, triumphing over the mighty cat after a gruelling three hours and forty minutes. They also caught tambaqui, Siamese carp, chao phraya catfish, rohu, and striped catfish.
 
The guides were at it again during there time off catching some impressive specimens that included Juliens golden price carp, alligator gar, mad barb, Siamese carp, Chinese bighead carp, Mekong catfish and Amazon redtail.
 
Tim took Austrian anglers Karl Zimmerman and Robert Rohrer up to Khao Laem Dam. Although the scenery was spectacular and Sue's cooking fantastic as always the fishing was very hard with the three of them only managing to catch a few small giant snakehead and yellow catfish.
 
Karl Grimsey made a very brief visit to Thailand all the way from the UK just to get some fishing in. He returned home happy though with his catches of black shark minnow, leopard catfish, clown featherback, Chinese bighead carp and Amazon redtail.
 
John King finally landed the fat Mekong catfish he was after, as well as catching a stunning wallago attu, yellow catfish, striped catfish and both Amazon and Asian redtail.
 
Canadian angler Phil Lemke and his friend were all smiles with their catches of a stunning alligator gar, as well as wallago attu, Asian redtail and striped catfish.
 
Fishing was tough for Swedish anglers Tommy Tonnesen and his fishing mate but they did manage to catch Juliens golden price carp, Asian redtail and striped catfish in the end.
 
Tommy Butler flew all the way from the UK for a five day whirlwind visit to Thailand and vowed to be back soon after catching striped catfish, Siamese carp, Mekong catfish and catfish shark.
 
Brad Tyson was happy with his catches of mrigal, wallago attu, striped catfish and Asian redtail.
 
Nick Tay seemed pleased with his catch of a chubby black ear catfish and the friendly Mekong.
 
Giovanni Michaelis continued his quest for a BIG Siamese carp, although unsuccessful this time he did catch a superb vundu catfish.
 
Another new customer Lee Eldred got into the Amazon redtails.
 

 

First timer Andrew Stockley amnaged to catch Mekong catfish and wallago attu.
 
Neil Yates made his annual visit again during the month catching a pb rohu, striped catfish and a camera shy wallago attu that managed to jump to freedom before it was photographed.
 
It was slow fishing for Austrian angler Robert Rohrer but he still managed to catch Mekong catfish and a chunky striped catfish.
 
Sven Seiffert returned and after loosing a number of fish finally landed a striped catfish.
