Angler of the month John Proud at the tender age of 78 became the eldest member of the Palm Tree Lagoon BIG Carp Club after a fifty minute battle with a monstrous Siamese carp. But he didn't stop there, also joining the PTL BIG Chao Phraya Club landing after a forty minute battle with a very strong and speedy 'Dogeater'. proudly displayed on his behalf by his son Jay. He also caught Siamese carp, Chinese bighead carp, wallago attu, black ear catfish, a seldom caught mad barb, alligator gar, rohu, black shark minnow, Mekong catfish, catfish shark, mollycot, mrigal, leopard catfish, both Amazon and Asian redtail and more...
 
It was another awesome session for Jackie Proud topped off by a pristine catla carp, a superb giant gourami, and a pb alligator gar.In addition she caught a number of other new species like yellow catfish, parapatinga, vundu catfish and Chinese bighead carp. She also joined the Palm Tree Lagoon BIG Catfish Club after a marathon battle with the friendly Mekong, and landed Siamese carp, black shark minnow, pacu, both Amazon and Asian redtail and many more...
 
Dean Turner was back and this time had no trouble in catching a number of Amazon redtail a species that eluded him last time. However, the pinnacle of the session was in fact a truly awesome Salween rita catfish. In addition to this wondrous catch he also landed some huge alligator gar, mollycot, Siamese carp, Juliens golden price carp, leopard catfish, Mekong catfish, rohu, striped catfish, crystal eyed catfish and Asian redtail.
 
Paul Williams returned and had another great session topped off by catching two awesome catches firstly a superb rare Chinese black carp, and then followed up by the difficult to catch giraffe catfish. In addition to these great fish he also landed chao phraya catfish, Siamese carp, Mekong catfish, Juliens golden price carp, leopard catfish, and both Asian and Amazon redtail.
 
Jason Proud returned and after a slow start to the session caught a wide variety of different species many of them new to him, and many pbs. These superb catches included wallago attu, alligator gar, Juliens golden price carp, yellow catfish, Mekong catfish, mrigal, Siamese carp, mollycot, striped catfish, rohu, leopard catfish, catfish shark, big-Y catfish, and both Asian and Amazon redtail.
 
Siam Fishing customer Ton was off to a flying start catching the difficult to catch ripsaw catfish on his first day. He then went on to catch yellow catfish, Mekong catfish, Siamese carp as well as both Asian and Amazon catfish. On the last afternoon he played one of the big Mekong catfish for four hours before tired and exhausted reluctantly passing the rod over to another customer as his ride couldn't wait any longer.
 
Ian Barton also returned during the month and was happy with his catches of Juliens golden price carp, pacu, rohu, and Amazon redtail.
 
David Harris made his way up from Hua Hin for his first visit to Palm Tree and was more than pleased with his catches that included an awesome Chinese bighead carp as well as Juliens golden price carp, chao phraya catfish, rohu and Amazon redtail.
 
The guides were at is again during the month and landed a number of great catches that included Siamese carp, alligator gar, tambaqui, pacu, Juliens golden price carp, Salween rita, mad barb, mrigal, and both Amazon and Asian redtail.
 
Darren Dwyer made his inaugural visit to Palm Tree and successfully caught a variety of species that included the rarely caught ripsaw catfish as well as Siamese carp, pacu, African walking catfish, and Amazon redtail.
 
Tim took Jackie, Jay and John Proud down to IT Monster Lake for the day with Jay catching two new species for him namely tambaqui and soldier river barb, they also caught alligator gar, pacu and Amazon redtail.
 
Ste Hart returned this time with his brother and they both enjoyed landing a number of Siamese carp as well as suckermouth catfish, rohu, big-Y catfish, Amazon redtail and Asian redtail.
 
Matt Jones first visit to Palm Tree proved successful with Matt landing some nice catches that included Siamese carp, and a number of Amazon redtail.
 
A couple of passing angler whose names escape me were more than happy with their catches of Juliens golden price carp, chao phraya catfish and Siamese carp.
 
Matt Buttle seemed happy with his catches of yellow catfish, alligator gar, striped catfish, Mekong catfish as well as both Amazon and Asian redtail.
 
Kelly Reed was back landing some nice fish that included Siamese carp, a chunky Mekong catfish, wallago attu a new species for him and pacu.
 
Matt Bowen made a brief return visit catching Amazon redtail, vundu catfish a new species for him, Siamese carp and Mekong catfish.
 
Perry Noakes was another angler visiting us for the first time catching Juliens golden price carp and black shark minnow.
 
Newcomer Peter Felhauer caught our only Chinese highfin catfish, as well as Siamese carp and Thai redtailed catfish.
 
First time angler Martyn Staley caught a stunning albino pacu as well as striped catfish and both Amazon and Asian redtail.
 
The ever grinning David Brown returned and successfully caught black shark minnow, rohu, striped catfish and Mekong catfish.
 
Martin Huuhka dropped in for a quick session and caught Siamese carp, Amazon redtail and striped catfish.
 
Michael Felton was back catching yellow catfish a new species for him and Asian redtailed catfish.
