What a trip Belgium angler Francis Ameryckx had joining not one but two BIG Fish Clubs, firstly with a monstrous 465lb Arapaima, and secondly after a long gruelling battle with a 380lb Mekong catfish. In addition to these more than awesome catches he also caught a superb alligator gar as well as tambaqui, wallago attu, big-Y catfish, mollycot, mrigal, catfish shark, both Amazon and Asian redtails and more...
 
Newly wed Jackie Proud returned to Palm Tree after a seven year break and thoroughly enjoyed her stay catching a huge variety of species that included the wallago double catching both the wallago attu and the wallago leeri, tambaqui, Juliens golden price carp, mollycot, striped catfish, catfish shark, rohu, Mekong catfish, arapaima, and both Amazon and Thai redtails.
 
Brothers Mike and Paul Stevenson were all smiles with their first visit to Palm Tree with Mike catching a huge 380lb+ Mekong catfish and getting a Palm Tree Lagoon 300lb Catfish Club t-shirt to boot. Paul's best catch was an arapaima. They also caught some other great catches such as striped catfish, wallago attu, catfish shark, and Amazon redtail.
 
The guides were at it again during the month with Benny catching a pb Siamese carp, the other guides were not to left out though as they also caught a number of great fish that included alligator gar, arapaima, Juliens golden price carp, chao phraya catfish, gourami, albino catfish shark, wallago leeri, Mekong catfish, big-Y catfish, and many more...
 
Jason Proud returned to Palm Tree after a long absence and what a return it was topped off by a more than awesome 380lb Mekong catfish which was of course an automatic qualifier into the 300lb Catfish Club. In addition to this dream catch he also caught several other species high on his wish list such as giant snakehead, wallago attu, chao phraya catfish, as well as arapaima, Chinese bighead carp, striped catfish, and Amazon redtail.
 
Brett Simmons was another angler who struggled to catch the carp as they were just not interested so he swapped tactics and this move resulted in him battling a 330lb Mekong catfish for over two hour and in the process he joined the Palm Tree Lagoon 300lb Catfish Club. In addition to this great catch he also caught an awesome pb alligator gar that wasn't too keen on having it's photo taken, arapaima, big-Y catfish, black shark minnow, rohu, Siamese carp, and more... 
 
Austrian anglers Klaus and Martha Stein returned and caught a wide variety of great catches that culminated in the capture of a 300lb Catfish Club qualifier in the form of a mighty 330lb Mekong catfish that took almost three hours to subdue. He also caught a pb 100lb+ Siamese carp, arapaima, wallago attu, Juliens golden price carp, striped catfish, clown featherback, alligator gar, vundu catfish, and Amazon redtail.
 
Johnny and Tuula were over again for their annual winter break away from Finland. As usual Johnny caught some wonderful fish that included Mekong catfish, arapaima, big-Y catfish, both Amazon and Thai redtails and more...
 
Brothers Mike and Paul Stevenson went down with Tim to fish 'Bung Sawan' John Wilson's private lake in Chumphon. They had a great time fishing with the legend and caught ripsaw catfish, Siamese carp, leopard catfish, java barb, tilapia, alligator gar, and Amazon redtails.
 
Philipp Ed Snaj certainly enjoyed his first trip to Palm Tree catching Mekong catfish, wallago attu, and some very impressive redtails both Asian and Amazon.
 
Jackie and Jason Proud went down to IT Monster Lake with Tim for the day (as Palm Tree was fully booked) and had a great time catching Amazon redtail, pacu and alligator gar.
 
Viktor Haglund was all smiles with his inaugural catches of Mekong catfish, alligator gar, striped catfish and Amazon redtail.
 
Regular Eric Schofield was really after Siamese carp but when they proved difficult to catch he successfully switched tactics and ended up in the 300lb Catfish Club after a mighty tussle with a 330lb Mekong catfish. Steve Byford sent Paul and Russel down for their first session at Palm Tree Lagoon and they seemed more than happy with their catches of giant gourami, striped catfish, clown featherback, catfish shark, pacu as well as both Amazon and Asian redtails.
 
Ian Soutar was another angler to join the 300lb Catfish Club during the month after successfully battling a mighty Mekong catfish for over two hours, he also caught big-Y catfish, Asian redtailed catfish and more...
 
Michel Van Den Eeckhaut and his fishing pal Robert Van Dijck thoroughly enjoyed their day catching a splendid Thai redtailed catfish, as well as Mekong catfish, wallago attu, Amazon redtail and rohu.

Regular Bob Nicholls was back catching a variety of species such as arapaima, rohu, striped catfish, catfish shark, and Amazon redtail. 
 
Goda Seiji made his first visit to Palm Tree during the month as was all smiles with his catches of Juliens golden price carp, Mekong catfish, and wallago attu.
 
Derek Ewing and his fishing mate David were back for their annual visit to Palm Tree Lagoon as as always enjoyed their trip catching a number of good fish that included striped catfish, catfish shark, Mekong catfish, as well as both Amazon and Asian redtails.
 
Neil Robinson sent down Viktor Stenkvist for his first visit and he was delighted with his catches of Mekong catfish, wallago attu, striped catfish and Asian redtailed catfish, vowing to return soon.
 
Barry Humm returned and was delighted with his catch of a good sized alligator gar, he also caught a number of other fish that included Mekong catfish.
 

 

Martin was referred to us by John Harvey, and his lucky hat seemed to do the trick as he went onto catch a number of good sized Mekong catfish.
 
Tony Kennedy was back catching black shark minnow, Mekong catfish and Amazon redtail.
 
Shane Bamber and another fishing mate came down to fish with Brett Simmons for the day and seemed pleased with their catches of African walking catfish and Mekong catfish.
 
Alek How only fished for half a day and was content with his catches of pacu and wallago attu and vowed to fish for longer next time.
 
First time visitor Chris Smith ended up with a couple of nice Mekong catfish.
 
Bangkok Fishing Guide Tap's customer seemed happy with this very chunky Mekong catfish.
 
Singapore John's customer finished the day with a superbly marked Amazon redtail.
