Colin Gawthorpe was back again catching the same monster arapaima he caught three months before, only this time he managed to get photos with it whereas in June it jumped over the side of the recover cage to freedom prior to getting a trophy shot. He also caught some superb other catches that included a pb Chinese black carp, another BIG Carp Club qualifying Siamese Carp, a pb Chinese silver carp, Chinese highfin catfish a new species for him,  and a soldier river barb also a new species for him. In addition he caught wallago attu, chao phraya catfish, African walking catfish, big-Y catfish, Mekong catfish, giant gourami, rohu, leopard catfish, both Asian and Amazon catfish and more...
 
What a first fishing trip to Thailand Paul Williams had catching not one but two huge Mekong catfish one of 380lb and one of 340lb ,,,much more than awesome earning himself two Palm Tree Lagoon BIG Catfish Club members t-shirts. In addition he also caught alligator gar, Juliens golden price carp, striped catfish and Siamese carp.
 
The ever cheerful Maryjane Lees returned to continue her quest for a 100lb+ Siamese carp, this she managed ably guided by Nong Su. She also caught some good sized Mekong catfish as well as wallago leeri, African walking catfish, a pb rohu, striped catfish, chao phraya catfsih and Asian redtailed catfish.
 
Our good Spanish buddy Javier Calvo was back and waisted no time in getting into the action catching not one but two Big Catfish Club qualifying Mekongs the first at 320lb and the second at 400lb. But he didn't stop there catching one of the species at the top of his wish list namely an arapaima as well as an awesome 100lb+ alligator gar, striped catfish, chao phraya catfish, yellow catfish, big-Y catfish and Asian redtails,
 
The Apple Dwarf was back after a long absence and had a great session breaking his Juliens golden price carp pb several times and catching a total of over 20 of them in the process. He also caught a huge pb bearded labeo weighing 26lb as well as black shark minnow, rohu, yellow catfish a new species for him, and topped it off by joining the Palm Tree Lagoon BIG Catfish Club with a stunning Mekong catfish.
 
What a great session Leigh Knott had culminating in smashing the Palm Tree Lagoon Salween rita record with a more than awesome 32kg specimen, and also joining the Palm Tree Lagoon 300lb Catfish Club after landing a hard fighting Mekong catfish that took over three hours to land. As well as this he also caught some fantastic other fish that included bearded labeo, black shark minnow, chao phraya catfish, Juliens golden price carp, a stunning Chines bighead carp, Siamese carp, alligator gar, rohu,  both Asian and Amazon redtail and more...
 
Pat Lowe was another angler who had a great session that included a t-shirter in the form on a 320lb Mekong catfish. He also caught a couple of the rarer species namely Salween rita and small scale mud carp. In addition to this he had a pb arapaima, wallago attu, alligator gar, Chinese silver carp, Juliens golden price carp, both Amazon and Asian redtail and more...
 
Nigel Mallalieu was over the moon with his session vowing to be back again next year for sure. He caught a great selection of fish that included arapaima which were top of his wish list, tambaqui, black shark minnow, Siamese carp, vundu catfish, ripsaw catfish, Juliens golden price carp, rohu, big-Y catfish, African walking catfish, pacu, Mekong catfish as well as both Amazon and Asian redtail.
 
Jay Stringer returned for his second session during the month catching several new species for him such as wallago leeri, black ear catfish, ripsaw catfish, African walking catfish and clown featherback. He also caught Mekong catfish, striped catfish, alligator gar as well as both Thai and Amazon redtail.
 
Luke Thomas, Gavin Brittan and another fishing mate, made their inaugural trip to Palm Tree during the month. Between them they managed three Palm Tree Lagoon BIG Fish Club t-shirts two Catfish ones with a pair of 300lb+ Mekongs,and one for an awesome 467lb arapaima which unfortunately jumped out of the recovery cage before they could get a good photo of it. In addition, they also caught another arapaima which this time they did get a photo of, tambaqui, alligator gar, wallago attu, a splendid albino chao phraya, yellow catfish, Siamese carp, a rare elephant ear gourami, rohu, as well as both Amazon and Asian redtail.
 
Irek Szatlach sent over a group of Polish angling enthusiasts accompanied by his son Marcin. They thoroughly enjoyed their session catching some stunning fish that included arapaima, Juliens golden price carp, Mekong catfish, yellow catfish, bearded labeo, Siamese carp, black shark minnow catfish shark, rohu, leopard catfish, striped catfish as well as both Amazon and Thai redtail.
 
Matt Christalow and his wife Lek were also back for another session catching a variety of great catches that included a pb arapaima, a stunning parapatinga a new species for him, a hard to catch catla carp, giant gourami, rohu, Juliens golden price carp, a pb wallago attu, clown featherback, big-Y catfish, striped catfish, Siamese carp as well as both Asian and Amazon redtail.
 
Lee Taylor Clark was back for his annual session successfully breaking his arapaima pb as well as catching his first tambaqui, pacu, Siamese carp, striped catfish, and Amazon redtail.

First timer Craig Williams accompanied Wayne Murray with Wayne stating he would show him how to do it lol. As it happens quite the opposite happened with Wayne struggling to get a fish and Craig catching a 380lb Mekong Catfish catapulting him straight into the Palm Tree Lagoon BIG Catfish Club. He also caught some other good sized Mekong as well as giant snakehead, leopard catfish, and Asian redtailed catfish.
 
Regular Palm Tree angler Dimitris Makris was also back for his bi-annual visit ,successfully adding another BIG Catfish Club t-shirt to his collection, and also catching rohu, mrigal, wallago attu, black shark minnow, and Asian redtailed catfish.
 
Gaz Cason was back for another session and successfully caught black shark minnow, striped catfish, Juliens golden price carp, Mekong catfish, and Amazon redtail.
 
Len Moses and Dave Horton made a last minute decision to come to Palm Tree and vowed to come back for longer next time. They caught a variety of fish such as giant snakehead, Juliens golden price carp, black shark minnow, wallago attu, and black ear catfish.
 
Dean Clark was back for his second visit landing a number of great catches that included Juliens golden price carp, African walking catfish, Siamese carp, an awesome Asian redtailed catfish, rohu, Amazon redtail, and striped catfish.
 
The guides were at it as usual on their days off catching a number of great fish that included Juliens golden price carp, arapaima, bearded labeo, ripsaw catfish, wallago leeri, tambaqui, Siamese carp, Mekong catfish, alligator gar, Amazon redtail and more...
 
What a start Phil Warton was off to, first fish in Thailand and it was a t-shirt qualifying 320lb Mekong catfish. He also went on to catch more Mekongs, vundu catfish, and Thai redtailed catfish.
 
Japanese angler Shinji Takahashi was all smiles with his catches of wallago attu, tambaqui, alligator gar, black shark minnow, parapatinga, leopard catfish, and Amazon redtail.
 

 

Wayne Murray had a very lean session by his standards catching giant gourami, pacu and striped catfish.
 
Neil Robinson of Kao Lak Fishing Adventures sent down a group of customers for the day who successfully caught Mekong catfish, Siamese carp, alligator gar, Juliens golden price carp, leopard catfish and Amazon redtail.
 
Ian Barton after a slow start eventually caught some nice fish that included leopard catfish, striped catfish and Amazon redtail.
 
Neil Robinson of Khao Lak Fishing Adventures brought down a customer down for a day who caught rohu, and a number of Amazon redtail.
 
German anglers Reinhard Trisin and his fishing buddy caught a 100lb+ Siamese carp and a good sized alligator gar but were reluctant to get in the water for a photo.
 
Martin Bull returned to try and up his Mekong catfish pb which he successfully did.
