Well what a first visit to Palm Tree Lagoon Mike Smith had joining not only the 150lb Carp Club with a stunning 180lb+ Siamese, but also the 300lb BIG Catfish Club with an equally awasome 360lb Mekong Catfish. In addition to these great catches he also caught some superb Juliens golden price carp, alligator gar, black shark minnow, chao phraya catfish, leopard catfish, wallago attu, giant courami, bearded labeo, Amazon redtail and more...
 
Right at the top of Sam Murphy's bucket list was an arapaima and on day two he caught one of the BIG girls propelling him straight into the Palm Tree Lagoon 400lb Arapaima Club. He also landed Mekong catfish, rohu, striped catfish, big-Y catfish and Amazon redtail.
 
Andy Harman flew in for a quick session and became the second angler to earn two Palm Tree Lagoon BIG Catfish Club t-shirts in the same session with two awesome Mekong catfish weighing in at 320lb and 380lb. He also upped his Juliens golden price carp pb as well as catching a number of other great species that included alligator gar, Chinese black carp, arapaima, wallago attu, Siamese carp, and Amazon Redtail.
 
Dean McEwan returned to continue his quest for membership of the Palm Tree Lagoon BIG Catfish Club. This time he did it in style landing not one but two qualifying Mekong catfish weighing in at 360lb and 320lb. But he was not finished there also catching a stunning Chinese black carp, arapaima, Siamese carp, and Amazon redtail.
 
Chris Campbell returned for his annual pilgrimage and was definitely not disappointed catching a 380lb Mekong catfish after a marathon battle that catapulted him straight into the Palm Tree Lagoon BIG Catfish Club. He also landed a stunning albino striped catfish, tambaqui, vundu catfish, parapatinga, black shark minnow, leopard catfish, striped catfish, as well as both Asian and Amazon redtail.
 
Donald McMillan was back this time with his friend from Scotland Kirsteen Scott and had yet another great session topped off by a pb Juliens golden price carp, a pb wallago attu and some stunning Asian redtails. He also caught a number of other great species that included black ear catfish, chao phraya catfish, leopard catfish, striped catfish, and a number of Amazon redtail.
 
Keith Hand had another good session collecting a BIG Catfish Club t-shirt after a three hour and forty minute tussle with a mighty Mekong catfish. He also caught a rare small scale mud carp, Siamese carp, Juliens golden price carp, bearded labeo, black shark minnow, alligator gar, chao phraya catfish, wallago attu, as well as both Amazon and Asian Redtail.
 
The weather had been cold and windy the weeks before the trip so we expected the fishing to be hard which it proved to be. However,.Donny and Dean fuelled by Chang, Hong Thong and Sang Som still thoroughly enjoyed the experience, relaxing in front of one of Thailand's most remote and majestic back drops of the Khao Laem National Park. Although the rohu were no where to be seen a number of other smaller species were caught including nandid tiger perch, yellow catfish, Java barb and black shark minnow. Dean had a couple of trips out lure fishing and again even though the jungle perch were not showing an appearance did manage to catch a number of small giant snakehead.
 
Scott Marshall was another angler that had some nice catches on his first vist the pick of which being a ripsaw catfish, as well as Mekong catfish and mrigal.
 
Steve Ryan and some of his fishing buddies returned and had a good session catching a number of impressive fish that included Siamese carp, Juliens golden price carp, alligator gar, pacu, Mekong catfish, and both Asian and Amazon redtail.
 
The guides of course put their spare time to good use during the month landed some impressive species that included arapaima, Mekong catfish, alligator gar, big-Y catfish and much more...
 
Mattias Lundberghad a great time on his inaugural visit catching Juliens golden price carp, Mekong catfish, black ear catfish, Siamese carp, catfish shark, big-Y catfish, striped catfish and A,Amazon redtail.
 
Kristian Rohr was well pleased with his first visit having already booked a second, after catching some awesome fish that included rarely caught giraffe catfish and ripsaw catfish, Juliens golden price carp, Mekong catfish, striped catfish, Siamese carp, catfish shark,  and both Asian and Amazon catfish.
 
Ian Mottram always enjoys his fishing and this time was no exception as he caught a stunning alligator gar, a superb tambaqui, Mekong catfish, chao phraya catfish, catfish shark as well as both Asian and Amazon catfish.
 
The ever smiling Keith Halliday was back and had a great session landing some impressive fish that included arapaima, Mekong catfish, Siamese carp, big-Y catfish, striped catfish, black shark minnow, African walking catfish and Amazon redtail.
 
The Polar Bear aka Stretton Honor was back but due to the unfavourable cold windy conditions was not the normally prolific catching machine self. However, he still managed to catch a pb alligator gar as well as Mekong catfish, Siamese carp and both Asian and Amazon redtail.
 
Viktor Stenkvist was back this time with an angling buddy and they successfully caught good sized Mekong catfish as well as alligaotr gar, and Amazon redtail.
 
Ray Marston returned to surprise Keith Hand on his birthday and was well pleased with his catches of Juliens golden price carp, a pb alligator gar, a very plump black shark minnow, Mekong catfish, and catfish shark.
 
A group of very enthusiastic Japanese anglers were all smiles with their catches of arapaima, Juliens golden price carp, Mekong catfish, chao phraya catfish, as well as both Amazon and Thai redtail.
 
Tommy Hulme landed some stunning fish during his first visit like Mekong catfish, black shark minnow, leopard catfish, vundu catfish, striped catfish and both Amazon and Asian redtail.
 
Greg Smith also had an enjoyable session catching Mekong catfish, Siamese carp, and Amazon redtail.
 
Colin Ellis seemed happy with his first session at Palm Tree landing some nice fish that included Mekong catfish, black shark minnow, striped catfish and Amazon redtail. 
 

 

Owen Huschka returned for his annual visit catching a number of Amazon redtails and Siamese carp.
 
The ever smiling Paul Muir was back for a quick visit and caught a pb alligator gar as well as an Asian redtail.
 
Leon San Marina was all smiles as he finished the day off with a good sized Mekong catfish, to add to his wife's Siamese carp caught earlier in the day.
 
Luke Gower after loosing the first half dozen or so fish that he hooked, he finally came good and was all smiles catching a 320lb Mekong catfish after a lengthy battle and earning himself membership of the Palm Tree Lagoon 300lb Catfish Club in the process. He als caught striped catfish.
 
Craig Williams returned for a days fishing and caught a stunning albino striped catfish.
 
Alex Honor son of the Polar Bear (aka Stretton honor) was another angler to break his Mekong catfish pb despite the unfavourable cold weather conditions.
 
Rob Verburg returned on what was a slow day for fishing but still managed to catch a decent sized Mekong catfish and a black shark minnow a new species for him.
 
Barry Jones came to Palm Tree hoping to better his Mekong catfish pb which he successfully did twice.
