What a right belter of a session Paul Goodchild had on his first visit to Palm Tree in January finishing up with five BIG fish t-shirts comprising of three BIG Catfish ones and two BIG Carp ones that included the second different Siamese carp to be landed that weighed in excess of 200lb. This fish was last caught two years ago at a weight of around 175lb so it has been on the munch. In addition to these great fish he also caught an awesome Chinese black carp, as well as tambaqui, alligator gar, grass carp, giant gourami, striped catfish, black shark minnow, wallago attu, as well as both Amazon and Asian redtail.
 
 
 
 
Adam Harris was another first time visitor in January and caught a wide variety of species that were topped off by a couple of superb Chinese silver carp, Chinese black carp and an elephant ear gourami. He also earned himself two Palm Tree Lagoon BIG fish club qualifying fish after successfully landing the ‘Warrior’ and the ‘Friendly Mekong’. He also caught a number of other impressive fish that included tambaqui, black shark minnow, alligator gar, pacu, wallago attu, yellow catfish, striped catfish, mollycot, as well as both Thai and amazon redtail.

 

 
 
 
 
Micky Palmer returned in January after a four year break and was soon into the fish catching the ‘Warrior’ as well as three new species for him namely Chinese black carp, black shark minnow and Chinese silver carp. He also caught pb pacu, pb tambaqui as well as mollycot, alligator gar, Mekong catfish, wallago attu, striped catfish, and both Amazon and Asian redtail.
 
 
 
 
Nick Peat finally got back to Palm Tree in January after three failed attempts over the past two and half years due to covid-19. It wasn’t long before he renewed his acquaintance with the ‘Friendly Mekong’ as well as landing some impressive tambaqui and some chunky Amazon and Asian redtail. He and Omm also caught a number of other species that included Siamese carp and striped catfish.
 
 
 
 
Cat and Peter of ‘Thailand – Fishing’ returned in January with a German customer who had a good session topped off by landing an awesome albino Chinese silver carp as well as both the ‘Warrior’ and the ‘Friendly Mekong’. He also caught black shark minnow, Chinese silver carp, catla carp and some chunky Amazon redtail.
 
 
 
 
Swedish angler Martin Aronsson visited us for the first time in January and had a great session topped off by two new species for him namely ripsaw catfish and Chinese bighead carp. He also landed two new pbs in the form of tambaqui and Siamese carp, as well as catching Mekong catfish, mollycot, alligator gar and Amazon redtail.

John Harvey was back again in January landing ‘The Warrior’ first cast of the session. He also caught ripsaw catfish and striped catfish.

Tap of BKK Fishing Guide sent up a couple of Austrian anglers in January and they were more than happy with their catches of the ‘Friendly Mekong’, Siamese carp, mollycot, striped catfish and Amazon redtail.
 
 
 
 
Tim only fished a couple of days in January but still managed to catch some nice fish that included Chinese black carp, tambaqui and mrigal.
 
 
 
 
Jonny Boye was back in January for a quick session this time landing ‘The Warrior’ as well as a swag of striped catfish.
 
 
 
 
Andrew Hartigan returned to Palm Tree in January after a long absence smashing his pb Mekong catfish record several times and he also broke his Amazon redtail pb. He also caught a new species a wallago attu as well as striped catfish.
 
 
 
 
A Korean angler visited us in January for the first time successfully landing black shark minnow, alligator gar, Thai redtailed catfish, and striped catfish.
